First Spring Weekend

This past weekend was our first warm weekend of spring, sunny and 70 degrees outside. We took advantage of the weather with bike rides, flea markets and BBQs.

On Friday we took a long bike ride to a Tortilla Factory, which serves amazing tacos on their fresh tortillas.














We then ventured deeper into queens discovering quaint suburban like neighborhoods.














On Saturday we rode our bikes to our local farmers market, in the same park we have been sledding recently (unfortunately no pictures). After the market we went to an amazing flea market near by, the Brooklyn Flea. During warmer months it is held in a school parking lot, but has moved into an amazing unused historic bank building for the winter. There are a range of stands selling clothes, furniture, decorations, and some delicious food stands. This was the second week in a row we went. So far we have gotten a pair of shoes for Chris, some old picture frames, an antique Easter card, and eaten some wonderful food.

Flushing Quens

Chris and I went to one of our favorite areas of New York~ Flushing, Queens. First we stopped by the mall for the tasty snack cakes filled with cream called DeLi Manjoo. A video of our tasty treats being made and Chris ordering in Chinese!

After our delicious breakfast we took a shuttle to Spa Castle. Spa castle is a Korean wonderland of hot tubs, saunas, and relaxing areas. The outside area is especially lovely when covered in snow.














For Dinner we took the train to the Indian district for an array of delicious Indian dishes.

More Snow!!!

We got more snow, prompting another day of sledding.

Snow Day

We got our second heavy snow fall, prompting school closures. Chris's was one of many across the city shut down for the snow, allowing us to explore Central Park on my lunch break from working at MoMA. It also gave us a chance to try our Chris's new camera.
