Karen's graduation

Graduation was held at a church near school. The church was far larger and more grand than any of expected. After a mostly traditional series of speeches and handing out of diplomas everyone sipped champagne and snacked on treats at the reception.

the church was incredibly, impressively, improbably beautiful.

As was Karen, in her robes and such. So proud!

Pictures from our trip to Florida

We're throwing up a bunch of posts at once to fill everyone in on what we've been up to this summer, up to this point. Due to how posts, well, post, in Blogspot, you're probably reading this one last, but I'm writing it first. So complex. Anyway, here is some stuff we recently did! The below are pictures from our trip to Florida, to visit my (chris') parents. And try to squeeze in a tropical vacation.

Karen has lately been obsessed with taking pictures of birds. "To do paintings of them," supposedly, but I think she really just has some bizarre bird fascination.

We went kayaking in the ocean!

Also in this weird mangrove tunnel. The branches were so low! Some of them had tiny crabs on them, which made Karen scared.

the beach was very pretty.

This is my parents' new house, which I affectionately like to call their "vacation house" because of all the fun-fun stuff nearby (tennis, pools, golf, etc). Although, really, they live there all the time. PERMANENT VACATION!

Just one of the previously-mentioned pools

Oh! I forgot to mention that there is also a lake! We thought we saw an alligator in it, and Karen went "wee wee wee" all the way home. Or all the way off of this pier, at least.
